Open Your Mind to Mindfulness

The blog of here and now

Greg_edited_edited.png

Greetings to whomever has joined this blog.

My short biography should indicate that Certainly do NOT HAVE AN IT
background therefore in the interest of transparency and for “giving credit where it is
due, the architect of this blog is a very old and dear friend Ms. Cori,
with whom I coached baseball (see the picture).
Cori, bless her, keeping in mind my decreased activityas a result of the stroke
I suffered, and keeping in mind my time working with WJS Canada will end one day.

Before we really get this engine working, please allow me to
suggest a couple of
very benign ground-rules.
Firstly, let us “disagree without being disagreeable”. In other words,
while we may be
passionate about some issues (I am and that is great!),
so let us be both polite, civil,
without resorting to profanity as this may not only
offend a
group member and could compromise our need for a safe environment.

Allow me to share a valuable lesson I learned as a newly commissioned
infantry officer in the Army. When I arrived at the Third Battalion of the PPCLI, me and
my fellow “green behind-the-ears were told in no uncertain terms the following:
“Gentlemen, you WILL NOT DISCUSS RELIGION, POLITICS, OR GENDER
related issues! If you do, you can kiss you free time good-bye!”
This lesson has served me well in every organization I have worked.
Please keep this in mind when expressing your views.

Finally, when closing off your message, please include your name
and the town/city in which you live, e.g., “Greg, St. Albert”.

Should you wish to correspond directly with a blog member perhaps then a short
message in the blog would be appropriate, e.g., “Hi Bob, please contact
me at the following as I’d like to discuss this further with you
1 on1 after which further correspondence can then be arranged through obliging adults.

I’m excited and look forward to sharing ideas with you and to
being able to call each of you “my friend".
